With Christmas just around the corner, I thought this would be a great opportunity to write my first blog entry. Decorating for Christmas is always fun and exciting, whether you lean towards traditional colors of red and green, or if you like to go with something trendy like rose gold and feathers. There is truly an endless supply of options. When someone asks me for design help at Christmas, I always start with selecting a theme, or overall mood for the space. Sometimes the mood is cheery and festive, and we use a lot of color and bright lights, some clients would prefer a more demure approach and choose to use muted tones with white lights. My personal favorite trend right now is to use more of a “Woodsy” theme, using fewer traditional decorations and more earthy, woodland vibes instead. This would include the use of a lot of greenery, faux garland, mini trees and wreaths in their natural state, sans shiny holiday bulbs.
